Membership

Membership is open to all Leyteños and Samareños  including those with dual citizenship who are residents of New Zealand at the time of application as well as their ascendants or descendants and families

Types of Members:

  • Regular members are Leyteños and Samareños who are residing in New Zealand during the time of application. Only regular members have the right to vote and be voted upon.
  • Associate members are persons related to members either by consanguinity or affinity and Friends of the Society who are willing to support the vision, mission and goals of the Society.

  1. To foster unity, solidarity and camaraderie of all Leyte and Samar residents in New Zealand;
  2. To attend to the needs and concerns of Leyte and Samar migrants in New Zealand;
  3. To raise awareness and respect among the Filipinos regarding the special status of Maori people as tangata whenua;
  4. To raise funds for charitable purposes;
  5. To help Filipino communities organise livelihood programs.
